Plumas Lake Man, 71, Killed in Feather River Blvd, Myrna Ave Crash in Yuba County

Yuba County, CA – On the evening of Friday, October 3, 2025, a 71-year-old man from Plumas Lake died after a head-on crash on Feather River Boulevard, according to The Sacramento Bee, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.

The collision took place around 7:25 PM near Myrna Avenue, between Yuba City and Marysville.

Investigators said the initial evidence suggests that an elderly man from Plumas Lake was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck south on Feather River Boulevard when his vehicle may have allegedly drifted across the center line and entered the path of an oncoming 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.

The two pickup trucks collided head-on in the southbound lane, blocking traffic and scattering debris across the roadway. Responding units from CHP, local fire departments, and emergency medical services arrived within minutes. Despite lifesaving efforts, the driver of the S-10 died at the scene from his injuries.

The driver and passenger in the Silverado sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Tow crews were called to the scene to remove both damaged vehicles. Authorities temporarily closed the roadway to clear debris and investigate the cause of the crash.

The Yuba County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased driver pending family notification. CHP’s Yuba-Sutter office continues to investigate the incident, though preliminary findings indicate that drugs or alcohol did not contribute to the collision.

Ongoing Investigations

Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
