Fresno, CA – On the evening of Sunday, October 12, 2025, a pedestrian in his 60s lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road, according to KSEE.

The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 7:00 PM near Blackstone Avenue, just south of Clinton Avenue.

Investigators said the man was crossing eastbound across Blackstone Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk when he entered the northbound lanes. As he stepped into traffic, he failed to yield and was hit by an oncoming SUV.

Officers at the scene administered first aid to the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Authorities have not yet released his identity, pending notification of next of kin.

Police confirmed that the driver of the SUV remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash.
