Fresno, CA – On the afternoon of Sunday, September 21, 2025, Corday Brown, 10, was struck by a truck and left with fatal injuries, according to KSEE.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 4:00 PM at Highway 99 near Cesar Chavez Boulevard.

Authorities said a truck traveled southbound on Highway 99 and took the Cesar Chavez Boulevard exit. About 10 children played close to the fast lane of the off-ramp at that time. Investigators said the driver attempted to avoid the children but struck Brown.

Brown suffered severe injuries when the truck hit him. Officers began CPR immediately at the scene in an effort to keep him alive. Emergency personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.

Officials reported that Brown’s family identified him shortly after the crash. Family members told investigators that they felt devastated by the loss of their 10-year-old boy.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Investigators are working to determine why the children gathered near the highway and how the driver responded in the moments before impact.
