September 21, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: On Sunday evening, a fatal motorcycle crash involving a big rig took place at a Bakersfield intersection.
According to KGET, the collision happened at 6:07 p.m. at the intersection of South Union Avenue and Welch Avenue. Police confirmed that a man was riding his motorcycle near the intersection when he was involved in a collision with a big rig due to reasons that remain under investigation.
The motorcyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained major injuries in the accident. He was rushed to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased while there. The driver of the semi-truck remained on scene to cooperate with police but was not injured.
No further details have been released. Bakersfield Police continue their investigation at this time.
