Fatal Goldenrod, Belmont Ave Crash in Kerman

Kerman, CA – In the late afternoon of Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a two-vehicle collision killed one man and left another driver with minor injuries, according to KSEE.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 5:00 PM at the intersection of Goldenrod Avenue and Belmont Avenue.

Investigators stated that a Nissan Sentra traveled north on Goldenrod Avenue as it approached the stop sign at Belmont Avenue. The driver, who authorities have not yet identified, allegedly failed to stop at the posted sign.

At the same time, a Toyota Tundra, driven by a 54-year-old man, moved west on Belmont Avenue, which has no stop signs at the intersection. The Tundra struck the right side of the Nissan with heavy force, sending debris into the roadway and pushing the smaller vehicle off course.

The impact left the Nissan driver unresponsive inside the car. Emergency responders reached the scene within minutes and transported him to Community Regional Medical Center. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the man died from his injuries after arriving at the hospital.

The driver of the Toyota also sustained injuries in the crash. Medical personnel evaluated him at the scene and confirmed that he did not require extended hospitalization. Authorities reported that he remained alert and cooperative during the investigation.

Officers closed Goldenrod Avenue and Belmont Avenue near the crash site to allow investigators to document the scene. Crews worked for several hours before authorities reopened the intersection to traffic.

The California Highway Patrol has not yet released the name of the man who died, as investigators must first notify his family.

Authorities continue to investigate whether additional factors, such as speed or distraction, contributed to the crash.

Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility.  Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
