Driver Killed in SR-193, Cedar Dr Crash in Georgetown

Georgetown, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, August 19, 2025, a single-vehicle crash on State Route 193 near Cedar Drive killed one person, according to CHP Fatal.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 10:24 AM on State Route 193 near Cedar Drive.

CHP officers responded to the scene and found a white Ford pickup truck involved in the collision. Responders confirmed that the driver suffered fatal injuries at the site. 

Emergency personnel closed the roadway for approximately 15 to 20 minutes to remove the overturned truck, clear debris, and ensure the safety of other motorists.

Towing crews recovered the vehicle and transported it from the scene. CHP officers confirmed that the crash involved only a single vehicle and coordinated with authorities to notify the next of kin about the fatality. CHP reopened State Route 193. 

Officers continue to investigate the factors leading up to the crash.
