Fresno, CA – In the morning of Wednesday, August 27, 2025, a car drove onto the patio at La Boulangerie in Fig Garden Village and injured two people, according to ABC30.
The Fresno Police Department reports that the crash happened around 10:00 AM near the intersection of West Shaw Avenue and North Palm Avenue, when a red Toyota Prius moved through the parking lot of the bakery before suddenly accelerating toward the outdoor dining area.
The vehicle jumped the curb and entered the patio, where several people sat at tables. It struck two patrons who had been sitting outside.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and treated both victims at the scene. Medical personnel confirmed that the victims did not require immediate hospitalization, but they recommended follow-up care.
Officers said that the driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, which caused the vehicle to surge forward. They interviewed the driver at the scene and determined that impairment or reckless intent did not play a role in the collision.
The Fresno Police Department confirmed that the injured individuals remained stable after treatment.
Personal Injury Claims
After a traffic accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs. A Personal Injury Claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their costs of care.
