Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified Miguel Angel Raya, 46, of Wasco, as the man who lost his life in a two-vehicle collision on the morning of Thursday, July 3, 2025, according to KBAK.
The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 6:45 AM at the intersection of Old River Road and White Lane.
According to authorities, Raya had been riding a motorcycle when he collided with a vehicle traveling through the intersection. The impact caused Raya to be thrown from the motorcycle, and responding officers found him lying in the roadway with major injuries. Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures at the scene; however, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. Police stated that preliminary findings indicate neither alcohol nor drugs were contributing factors in the collision.
The circumstances leading up to the crash have not yet been fully determined, and investigators are working to reconstruct the incident. No additional injuries were reported.
