Stanislaus County, CA – On the evening of Monday, July 28, 2025, a head-on collision along Highway 120 east of Oakdale left three individuals hospitalized with major injuries, according to ABC10.
The crash occurred when two vehicles collided head-on, prompting the temporary closure of Highway 120 between Lancaster Road and Kennedy Road.
CHP officers responded to the scene and determined that one of the vehicles, operated by a 64-year-old man, had crossed into the opposing eastbound lane for reasons that have not yet been determined.
Inside the second vehicle were an 83-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman. All three individuals involved in the crash sustained critical injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Authorities reported that all parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have played a role. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a medical emergency contributing to the collision.
The official cause remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
