Turlock, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, July 9, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one driver and left another with minor injuries, according to KCRA.
The Modesto Fire Department reports that the accident took place around 11:25 PM at the intersection of Geer Road and Christoffersen Parkway.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they found two heavily damaged vehicles blocking the roadway. One of the vehicles, a sedan, had collided with what appeared to be a streetlight and sustained significant front-end damage.
According to fire officials, the driver of the sedan was pinned inside the vehicle and had gone into cardiac arrest by the time first responders arrived. Crews immediately began CPR while simultaneously working to free the driver from the wreckage.
After a period of intense extrication efforts, the driver was removed from the vehicle, and CPR was continued. Despite those life-saving measures, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity, age, or gender of the deceased driver, pending notification of next of kin.
The second driver involved in the crash was treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital with what were described as minor injuries.
At this time, it remains unclear what caused the crash, and investigators have not determined whether alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed were contributing factors.
The collision remains under investigation.
