Fresno County, CA – On the afternoon of Thursday, July 10, 2025, a two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of 24-year-old Clovis resident and left another man with moderate injuries, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 2:35 PM at the intersection of DeWolf Avenue and South Avenue.
According to investigators, the Clovis man was driving a Subaru northbound on DeWolf Avenue when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign at South Avenue. The Subaru entered the intersection and collided with a Ford traveling eastbound on South Avenue, which does not have a stop sign. The force of the crash caused fatal injuries to the Subaru driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, identified only as a 55-year-old man from Parlier, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Authorities confirmed that both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
CHP officials stated that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have contributed to the collision. The crash remains under investigation as officers work to determine the full sequence of events that led to the fatal impact.
Failure to Yield
In California, as in other states, “failure to yield” means that you didn’t give the right of way to the right person at the right time. As such, failure to yield or stop is closely related to the “right of way.” When a motorist fails to yield, stop, or otherwise avoid an accident and causes a crash, he or she can be held liable for injuries and damages suffered by a victim.
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury Claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
