Fresno, CA – On the morning of Saturday, June 28, 2025, a two‑vehicle collision killed an 80‑year‑old woman and injured two men, according to KSEE.
The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:30 AM at Huntington and Chestnut Avenues.
Investigators say a black Chevy Camaro and a white Lexus sedan collided in the intersection, sending both vehicles off course until the Lexus struck a metal fence and came to rest. Responding Fresno Fire Department crews found the Lexus heavily damaged with its occupants trapped inside.
Firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate the 36‑year‑old male driver and his 80‑year‑old front passenger. Both were transported to a local hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries.
The 26‑year‑old man driving the Camaro sustained injuries described as stable and was also taken to an area medical center for treatment.
Authorities have not yet determined which driver had the right of way, and investigators continue to examine vehicle positions, debris patterns, and possible traffic‑signal violations.
Police urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that might aid the investigation to contact the Fresno Police Department’s traffic unit.
Wrongful Death Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should someone else be found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income to support the family of the deceased.
