Crash Involving Light Rail at 6th, H Street Injures 3 in Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – On the late morning of Tuesday, June 24, 2025, a collision between a light rail train and a passenger vehicle resulted in three people sustaining injuries, according to KCRA.

The Sacramento Police Department reports that the accident occurred around 10:29 AM at the intersection of 6th and H Streets in Downtown Sacramento.

According to authorities, the crash involved a light rail train operated by SacRT and a private vehicle. The force of the impact caused the train to be pushed off the tracks.

The train operator, a passenger aboard the light rail, and the driver of the vehicle were all transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.

As a result of the incident, SacRT implemented a temporary bus bridge on the Gold Line between the Sacramento Valley Station and the 13th Street Station to accommodate riders during the service disruption.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
