May 14, 2025, Fresno, CA: A police chase that stemmed from a domestic disturbance eventually led to a pedestrian crash in Fresno on Wednesday.
The accident, according to KMPH, took place during a police chase on Blackstone Avenue near Clinton Avenue. Police initially received a call that there was a disturbance in the area and a suspect was breaking windows. As it turned out, a pregnant woman was removed from the scene and was possibly injured due to broken glass. When officers initiated a ping on the pregnant woman’s phone, they were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle on Blackstone.
When police discovered the blue Lexus being operated by the suspect, they attempted a traffic stop. The driver took off and a short pursuit occurred until the Lexus slammed into a bus stop near the intersection. The driver fled the scene.
A total of four people were injured in the accident. Two pedestrians standing at the bus stop sustained injuries ranging from a broken ankle to general pain and were hospitalized. Two other pedestrians were injured due to broken glass from the accident and were also hospitalized.
The suspect was soon found by police but resisted arrest. They eventually took him into custody where he was charged with kidnapping, felony domestic violence, hit-and-run, and more.
No further details have been released but Fresno officials continue their investigation into the collision at this time.
