Hit-and-Run Accident at San Juan and Tarpey Roads in Watsonville Causes Injuries

May 12, 2025, Watsonville, CA: A hit-and-run accident with injuries took place at an intersection in Watsonville on Monday night.

The accident, according to information provided by Kion46 News Channel, happened just after 9 p.m. California Highway Patrol in Monterey County responded after reports of a hit-and-run. When they arrived, they found that a suspect was involved in an initial collision at San Miguel Road and Hambey Lane. The driver then continued onward north, where they crashed a second time into a power pole.

The driver continued on once more, where they slammed into a vehicle at the intersection of San Juan Road and Tarpey Road. Police confirmed that the driver then fled the scene of that accident but they were soon found by police and arrested.

One individual in the other vehicle involved in the third crash was injured in the accident. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police believe that the suspect was driving under the influence at the time of the crashes.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
