South Hayes, West Huntsman Ave Crash Kills 1, Injures 2 in Fresno County

Fresno County, CA – On the early morning of Thursday, May 22, 2025, a head-on collision left one man dead and two others injured, according to ABC30, with additional reporting from CHPFatal.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 5:00 AM near the intersection of South Hayes Avenue and West Huntsman Avenue.

Authorities say a 20-year-old man was driving a GMC southbound on Hayes Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry.

The driver of the GMC was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men traveling in the Camry sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officials indicated the possibility that the GMC driver may have experienced a medical emergency before the crash, but no conclusions have been confirmed.

Emergency crews responded quickly to the crash site, and both vehicles required towing from the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a Personal Injury Claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
