Fresno, CA – On the evening of Friday, May 2, 2025, 21-year-old Bryce Tomlinson of Fresno lost his life when his motorcycle collided with a truck, according to ABC30.
The authorities report that the accident took place around 9:30 PM near the intersection of Maroa and Fedora Avenues.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Upon arrival, officers found the motorcyclist, later identified as Tomlinson, and his motorcycle submerged in a canal adjacent to the roadway.
According to first responders, Tomlinson had been in the water for several minutes before Fresno Fire Department’s water rescue team located and retrieved him. He was then transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck, a woman whose identity has not been released, remained at the scene and has been cooperating fully with the police. She was reportedly uninjured in the collision.
Authorities are reviewing physical evidence from the scene and collecting witness statements to determine whether factors such as speed, alcohol, or distracted driving may have contributed to the incident.
Wrongful Death Claims
Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a Wrongful Death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
Comparative Negligence
California Law upholds the concept of Comparative Negligence, which allows more than one party to share blame in a personal injury accident. Injured victims may have their compensation reduced if they are found partially responsible.
