Truck Found with Driver Dead near Bear Valley Rd, Hunters Valley in Mariposa County

Mariposa County, CA – On Thursday, April 3, 2025, a single-vehicle crash resulted in the death of a man whose pickup truck was found down a steep embankment, according to KSEE.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 11:50 AM near Bear Valley Road and Hunters Valley. 

Officers arriving at the scene discovered a damaged pickup truck approximately 100 feet down the hillside with a deceased man located nearby.

Emergency personnel responded to the remote location and initiated recovery efforts. The identity of the man has not been released pending family notification. 

CHP has stated that both the cause of the crash and the exact time it occurred remain under investigation.
