Marin County, CA – On the evening of Friday, April 18, 2025, a single-vehicle collision resulted in fatal injuries to four individuals and left two others in critical condition, according to Bay City News.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 7:30 PM on westbound San Geronimo Valley Road, south of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near Woodacre, when a vehicle carrying six passengers crashed into a tree and subsequently caught fire.
Authorities stated that three of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth individual was transported to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The remaining two occupants were hospitalized in critical condition.
The CHP has not released the identities of the victims. However, the Tamalpais Union High School District confirmed that all six individuals were students at Archie Williams High School in San Anselmo. District officials said grief counseling and support services are being coordinated for students and staff.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the tree. CHP is continuing to gather information and evaluate potential contributing factors such as speed, distraction, or impairment.
