Fresno, CA – On the early morning of Friday, March 7, 2025, a 21-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by two vehicles on Herndon Avenue, according to The Fresno Bee.
The Fresno Police Department reports that the incident occurred around 3:45 AM east of Brawley Avenue.
Officers responded after receiving calls that a pedestrian had been run over by multiple vehicles. Upon arrival, they found the victim lying in the roadway. Despite efforts to provide medical aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Jesse Perez, a 21-year-old resident of Fresno.
According to investigators, the driver of the first vehicle was traveling west on Herndon Avenue when they heard an impact and pulled over. Upon returning to the scene, they discovered Perez lying in the road. The second driver, also heading westbound, was unable to stop in time and struck Perez as well.
Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Authorities stated that neither driver showed signs of impairment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police have not disclosed whether speed, road conditions, or other factors played a role.
