March 29, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: On Saturday night, one person was tragically killed in a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident at a Bakersfield intersection.
The accident, according to information provided by Bakersfield Now, happened around 10:45 p.m. at the intersection of South Union Avenue and White Lane. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of their injuries. Police did not say if they found the driver of the involved vehicle or if they were injured.
Southbound lanes of South Union were blocked for some time as police investigated. Their investigation into the collision remains ongoing at this time.
