San Bernardino County, CA – On the morning of Saturday, February 22, 2025, a single-vehicle crash resulted in at least one fatality after an SUV rolled over multiple times, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 6:12 AM on the right shoulder of Interstate 5 near the Dale Evans Parkway Off-Ramp.
Authorities say a white four-door sedan veered off the road before an SUV rolled over seven times. A man at the scene attempted to assist the vehicle’s occupants. Emergency dispatch received an iPhone crash alert, with a female reportedly moaning in the background, indicating possible severe injuries.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office (SBSO) responded and later requested the coroner at 6:37 AM. At least one fatality was confirmed at 10:06 AM, and a vehicle recovery operation was initiated.
No further details about the victims have been released, and it remains unclear how many individuals were inside the SUV at the time of the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
Single-Vehicle Collisions & Comparative Negligence
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
