San Joaquin County, CA – On the night of Wednesday, February 12, 2025, a person was found dead after a vehicle plunged into the Little Potato Slough, according to CBS13.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident took place around 8:30 PM near Eight Mile Road and Empire Tract Road.

Single-Vehicle Collisions and Comparative Negligence
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
