January 1, 2025, North Edwards, CA: On Wednesday morning, a fatal two-vehicle collision took place on a highway in North Edwards.
The accident, according to information provided by Bakersfield Now, happened around 5:36 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 58 near the area of Clay Mine Road. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling on the highway when they collided due to reasons that are still being investigated.
One person was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of the accident. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
All lanes of traffic were blocked for some time after the accident. Police opened the second lane of traffic back up at 7:26 a.m.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
