December 27, 2024, Bakersfield, CA: On Friday night, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision at a Bakersfield intersection.
The accident, according to information provided by KGET, happened at 11 p.m. at the intersection of Roberts Lane and Brandon Way. Police confirmed that a man was walking in the area near the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle that was headed south at the time. The driver fled the scene without stopping to check on the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, identified as a 51-year-old male, was tragically pronounced dead on scene by the Kern County coroner. Nobody else was allegedly injured in the accident.
California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
