December 18, 2024, Santa Cruz, CA: A fatal motorcycle accident took place in Santa Cruz on Wednesday morning.
According to information provided by Kion 46 News Channel, the accident happened around 9:40 a.m. on Soquel San Jose Road just north of Old Turnpike Road. A man was riding south on Soquel on a blue BMW motorcycle while a second man was traveling north in a green Subaru Forester with two passengers and three dogs. The motorcycle and the Subaru collided due to reasons that are still being investigated.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified as a 68-year-old from Los Gatos, was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to major injuries. The others involved in the accident were not hurt.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
