September 30, 2024, Vacaville, CA: A man and his dog were injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at a Vacaville intersection on Monday night.
According to information provided by KCRA, the accident happened around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Browns Valley Road and Vaca Valley Parkway. A man was walking his dog in the area of the intersection when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle. The man was thrown onto the road and his dog was dragged under the vehicle before it was able to limp to a house nearby. The driver continued to drive without stopping to check on either of them.
The man, identified as a 73-year-old, suffered multiple injuries in the accident. They included a hip fracture, a dislocated shoulder, and a femur fracture. He had to endure surgery as a result. The man’s dog also sustained serious injuries but was reunited with his family.
Vacaville Police are still searching for the driver who caused the accident. Their investigation into the collision continues.
