October 9, Fresno, CA: On Wednesday morning, a man lost his life in a pedestrian accident involving a big rig on a highway in Fresno.
According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the accident happened at 4 a.m. on Highway 99 around the area of McKinley Avenue. A man was walking across the northbound lanes of traffic in the area when they were suddenly struck by a big rig. The driver of the big rig attempted to avoid the pedestrian but was allegedly unable to do so.
The pedestrian, who was only identified as an adult male, was tragically pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the big rig remained on scene but was not hurt.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident at this time.
