October 18, 2024, Fresno, CA: Two people were killed in an accident on Wednesday night in Fresno when a man crashed into a home following a pursuit.
According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the accident happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Nevada Avenue. Police started a pursuit between a suspect, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and deputies from another station.
When the pursuit concluded, the suspect crashed their white Tahoe into a home at the intersection. The vehicle went inside the residence and struck two women, trapping one of them under the Tahoe.
The trapped victim, identified as an 18-year-old woman, was tragically pronounced dead on scene. The other victim, identified as a 25-year-old woman, was also killed as a result of the accident. The victims were identified as sisters.
Police confirmed that the pursuit started due to a gang-related disturbance in the area. The suspect, identified as an 18-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of evading police and vehicular manslaughter due to his role in the accident.
Fresno Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
