Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision on Highway 178 in Mountain Mesa

September 27, 2024, Mountain Mesa, CA: A man was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident that happened in Mountain Mesa on Friday evening.

At the time, a man was riding his 2003 Honda motorcycle headed east near the intersection. A 16-year-old in a 2009 Chevrolet was preparing to make a turn at the intersection and went directly in the path of the motorcyclist. The rider of the Honda attempted to avoid the crash but still crashed, causing it to slide into the Chevrolet.

Paramedics claim that the motorcyclist, a 61-year-old man, was ejected from his motorcycle. He was tragically pronounced dead due to his injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was not hurt.

California Highway Patrol officials continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
