August 5, 2024, Buellton, CA: A two-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Buellton on Monday morning. According to KSBY, the accident happened on Highway 246 and involved two vehicles.
At the time, an elderly man was traveling on the highway in his Tesla while an adult woman and young man were in a Suburban SUV. Due to reasons that are still under investigation, the Suburban collided with the driver’s side of the Tesla.
The elderly man had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was then taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ambulance for treatment of major injuries. The woman in the SUV sustained injuries as well and was taken to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital.
No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
