August 12, 2024, Visalia, CA: On Monday night, one individual tragically lost their life in a fatal hit-and-run bicycle accident that took place in Visalia.
According to Your Central Valley, the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Caldwell Avenue around the intersection with Ben Maddox Way. A driver struck a bicyclist who was traveling in the area and then fled the scene. Police found the mangled bicycle on scene and the suspect’s vehicle a short distance away from the accident. The vehicle has since been identified as a black Ford Fusion.
The bicyclist was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to their injuries. Nobody else was allegedly injured in the collision.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
