Support for Pedestrians After a Lindsay Hit-and-Run Accident

When a pedestrian is hit by a vehicle, they are likely to suffer from life-threatening injuries or even lose their life. This is due to the fact that pedestrians have virtually no protection from harm in the event of an accident involving any type of vehicle. When a hit-and-run driver is involved in a pedestrian accident, victims may wonder what options they have for recovery.

If a hit-and-run driver was arrested by police, you and your family may be able to file a personal injury claim against the at-fault party’s insurer to receive financial recovery. If the insurer does not pay what you need them to, it may proceed to trial.

If the hit-and-run driver is not apprehended by police and remains unidentified, you may need to go in a different direction when it comes to your recovery. A victim has the right to file an injury claim through their own insurer’s uninsured motorist coverage. This can be a daunting and confusing process, which is why it is beneficial to have a lawyer on your side.
