Merced is located right in the center of multiple large highways in California, which include Highway 59, Highway 140, and Highway 99. With its location only 45 minutes from Interstate 5, traffic is heavy throughout certain times of the day in Merced and the rest of Merced County. Because of this increased traffic, there is a higher likelihood for serious accidents as well.
Car accidents involving multiple vehicles on highways can be incredibly catastrophic due to the force involved in these collisions. Severe damages and injuries can result in the blink of an eye, forever altering the lives of victims. Many individuals who have been hurt in car accidents wonder what options they have for financial recovery.

Making a Determination of Liability After a Merced Car Accident
Determining liability is one of the most crucial things that you can do following a Merced car accident if you want to protect your rights. Multi-vehicle collisions happen due to many reasons, from distracted drivers to those who are traveling over the speed limit. You can prove liability by determining if several factors are present:
- A driver owed a duty of care on our roads
- The driver breached the duty of care
- The breach in duty led to the accident
- The accident caused damages
It is not always easy to determine liability in a car accident, especially if it is unclear due to the circumstances of your collision. This is why it can be incredibly beneficial to speak with a legal advocate after an accident.
