California Highway Patrol and other responders were dispatched to the area where they discovered that a Honda Civic slammed into the back of a box truck. Police believe that the driver of the Honda was traveling at high speeds when the accident took place.
The driver of the Honda sustained major injuries and was hospitalized. The passenger inside the Honda was tragically pronounced dead on the scene due to traumatic injuries. There were several occupants inside the box truck who also reported minor injuries and are expected to be okay.
CHP continues its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
