Liability in Multi-Car Accidents on Hwy 101 in Montecito CA

Why Are Injury Symptoms Often Delayed After A Car Accident?

Busy highways through Santa Barbara County can host small collisions that quickly involve many more drivers. A wrecked vehicle stopped in the roadway may catch approaching motorists by surprise. They may not be left with the time or room to brake to avoid an initial accident scene.

Reckless drivers who are traveling too fast to react to any obstacle in the road can escalate the severity of injuries involved in a pile-up. Victims can suffer hairline fractures, concussions, ligament and nerve damage, and neck injuries after their cars are struck from several angles.

Support for Victims After a Montecito Collision

Victims of major car accidents can be left in shock after a collision and may not register their injuries right away. It may be the following day when the pain of a more serious injury makes itself known. X-rays and a doctor’s examination could uncover a more concerning injury.

It’s why car accident victims shouldn’t assume they are okay after a crash, simply because they don’t feel a lot of pain at the moment. They also shouldn’t say “I’m fine” on the scene. Insurance adjusters can use these statements against victims when they must ask for injury support in the coming weeks after a traumatic injury is discovered.

Victims would have to seek injury support from an at-fault driver’s car insurance company. This would include full compensation for every medical bill the victim receives. Patients should also demand the reimbursement of paychecks the victim loses while out of work.

A Santa Barbara car accident lawyer would provide proof of your injury so that an insurance adjuster couldn’t question the severity simply to save money.
