Two Killed in Tragic Collision in Kings County
Two people lost their lives in a two-vehicle accident in Kings County at midday Tuesday, south of Lemoore Station. According to KFSN-TV, the crash occurred on Avenal Cutoff Road at the intersection of Laurel Avenue on May 30, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened right around noon. They arrived on scene to discover that the driver of a white Dodge Ram Pickup on Laurel Avenue had stopped for the stop sign, but then entered the path of a Honda Accord traveling northbound on Avenal Cutoff. The two vehicles collided, leaving both vehicles with major front-end damage.
Two passengers in the Honda were killed in the collision. They were a 67-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman. Two other passengers in the Honda, a 77-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, suffered injuries and were rushed to a local hospital. The driver of the pickup was also transported to the hospital.
California Highway Patrol Officers continue to investigate the cause of the accident. They don’t believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
