Three People Sent to Hospital After Madera Multi-Car Accident
Three people were rushed to the hospital Sunday evening after a vehicle trying to pass traffic in western Madera caused a chain-reaction crash. KFSN-TV reports the accident occurred along Granada Drive, between Riverview Drive and Sunset Avenue, on March 2, 2023.
Madera Police Officers responded to the scene sometime around 6 p.m. They determined that a driver traveling southbound on the two-lane road had tried to pass a second vehicle on the right side. When the driver went around and tried to reenter the lane, the vehicle sideswiped the second vehicle. The driver of the first car lost control and struck a northbound vehicle head-on. The third vehicle continued on into a tree.
One of the drivers had to be airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. The two other drivers were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Updates on their conditions have not been released. Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collisions.
