Drivers in Downtown Los Angeles can already try to get away with a lot of reckless driving. Sometimes police attempt to pull these dangerous motorists over. In some cases, a suspect puts other lives at risk by attempting to flee from the police.
Fleeing suspects create constant hazards to other drivers. A suspect speeding away from a police stop can lose control and end up hurting innocent victims. Victims will wonder how they can earn justice and help with their injury recovery costs.
Reckless Driving Suspect Injures Four People in Downtown L.A. Police Chase
Four people were transported to the hospital Wednesday night after a police pursuit ended in a crash in downtown Los Angeles. KABC-TV reported the accident occurred near the intersection of South Hope Street and 9th Street on March 29, 2023.
LAPD began the pursuit of a reckless driving suspect at around 9 p.m. The chase ended near a Ralph’s Fresh Fare location when the fleeing suspect struck another car.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that four people were taken to a nearby hospital in ambulances. Two people in the suspect’s car were injured and two people in the other vehicle were also among the injured. There was no update on their conditions. A dog was also taken from one car and is being cared for by animal services.
The two people in the pursued car were handcuffed to gurneys as they were taken for care. There’s been no word on the charges they’ll face.
Support for Victims After a Los Angeles Accident Involving a Police Chase
Victims in Los Angeles traffic accidents are encouraged to file a claim for damages against an at-fault driver’s car insurance provider. This claim seeks help with all medical bills. It also demands assistance with replacing the lost income a victim loses while having to miss work hours.
If an at-fault driver is facing criminal charges in the accident, the good news is that victims don’t have to wait on criminal proceedings to earn support. They can file a civil injury claim as soon as possible and collect a settlement award even as a criminal trial has yet to start. The two cases are decided separately.
In cases involving an uninsured driver, victims can seek compensation for their costs from their own auto insurance companies. A skilled Los Angeles Car Accident Attorney would make sure the victim received fair support from their own uninsured motorist coverage.

Injured victims often don’t know how much their initial care will cost or how much money they’ll need to pay for the care required down the road. Car insurance companies can take advantage of this fact. They will work to talk a victim out of filing a claim or move to provide far less in compensation than a victim will need to fully recover.
