The California Highway Patrol received word about the pileup just after 8:30 a.m. They responded to the scene in the southbound lanes. Officers determined that five vehicles had been involved, including a Black Ford Explorer. The crash blocked three lanes of Highway 99.
Crews on the scene said that there were minor injuries involved but it was unclear if any victims had been taken to the hospital.
California Highway Patrol investigators continue to go over their evidence to determine what caused the frightening accident.
