The two-car accident was reported just before 6:15 AM at the intersection West Alma and Pomona avenues, near Parque de Padre Mateo Sheedy, according to the story from the San Francisco Examiner.
The San Jose Police Department responded to the accident shortly after it was reported, and discovered that the woman was seriously injured. Emergency crews rushed her to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
The SJPD’s initial investigation concluded that the woman’s Honda sedan was crashed into by a white Ford pickup driven by a man traveling southbound at the intersection of West Alma and Pomona Avenues, where he collided with the woman, fatally injuring her.
The man driving the truck remained at the scene and was cooperative with the police after the accident. The SJPD further reported that drugs or alcohol played no part in the accident, and further investigation was needed to determine the right of way at the intersection.
