Nighttime Motorcycle Accidents on DiGiorgio Rd In Kern County CA

Motorcyclists traveling Kern County roads at night constantly face hazards from careless drivers. Drivers who aren’t paying full attention to the lanes in front of them can misjudge the distance of a motorcycle when observing a single headlight. They may also make the same mistake when glancing at the single brake light of a motorcycle ahead. The unfamiliar sight may also cause them to miscalculate their distance from the rider they are quickly approaching.

This error in judgment can lead to devastating rear-end crashes and cause life-threatening injuries. It’s often the case that just a little more attention paid to the road could have prevented a tragedy.

Motorcyclist Struck from Behind and Killed in Kern County

A man on a motorcycle was killed after he was rear-ended by a vehicle southeast of Bakersfield early Thursday morning. KGET-TV reports the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. north of Arvin on DiGiorgio Road east of Edison Road on September 1, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol says that a 33-year-old man from Lamont was driving a Lincoln westbound. He came upon a motorcycle also traveling west and struck the rider from behind. The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and the bike was flipped several times by the impact.

The motorcyclist was found unresponsive. Tragically, he was later pronounced dead on the scene. The victim was identified as a 25-year-old man from Bakersfield.

CHP investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision. They do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

Support for Families After a Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident

Families who are forced to cope with the loss of a loved one after a motorcycle accident may risk a financial disaster when faced with the bills that follow. Close relatives can receive the invoices for a memorial service and burial and also be charged enormous ambulance fees and other medical costs.

A wrongful death claim filed against an at-fault driver’s car insurance provider can ask for assistance with these expenses. A wrongful death claim should also seek additional support factoring in the loss of guidance and income the deceased can no longer provide in the years to come. A Kern County Motorcycle Accident Lawyer acting on behalf of the family can also work to secure their futures.
