Motorcycle Accident Dangers on Washington Ave In San Leandro CA

Common Facial Injuries Sustained in Motorcycle Accidents

Motorcyclists in San Leandro ride with very little protection when compared to the occupants of vehicles surrounded by metal and protected by seatbelts and airbags. Riders are sometimes at the mercy of careless drivers who can take very quick looks while performing a turn or a lane switch and miss the smaller profile of a motorcycle.

This mistake can lead to a devastating crash that leads to major injuries for a rider. Riders can easily suffer broken bones, traumatic injuries, skin abrasion, and be left at risk of losing their lives.

Support for Families After a San Leandro Motorcycle Accident

When motorists don’t pay proper attention to the roadway while driving in close proximity to motorcyclists, they can suddenly end up in the path of a rider. This lack of attention can claim the life of a motorcyclist and leave a family behind to grieve.

California law allows families who have lost a loved one to file a motorcycle accident wrongful death claim. This claim would ask an at-fault driver’s insurance provider for assistance with ambulance fees and funeral expenses after an accident. It would also seek help replacing the income the deceased would no longer be able to provide the family moving forward.

Victims and their families may seek this financial support even if a motorcyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of an accident. Motorcycle helmets are required for all riders but traveling without one doesn’t keep a victim or close relatives from earning help with the costs that arise after a crash. An at-fault driver could still be asked for support after a tragic accident.
