DUI Collision Dangers On Hwy 68 In Monterey County CA

Travel along the Monterey/Salinas Highway (also known as Hwy 68) gets very hazardous when drivers become reckless. A thoughtless driver may even get out on the road after consuming drugs or alcohol to create an extremely dangerous situation.

Impaired drivers engage in some frightening driving in the lanes and can end up in the path of other motorists. Collisions often occur at full speed because innocent drivers aren’t given time to recognize what’s happening and hit the brakes. These collisions can easily endanger the lives of every occupant of the vehicles involved.

Finding Support for Monterey County Accident Victims and Their Families

Families who have lost a loved one in a terrible accident can be unfairly subjected to the costs of a funeral and emergency services all at once and be facing extreme financial difficulties. A civil claim filed against an at-fault driver’s car insurance provider can ask for assistance with these expenses.

This wrongful death claim is also intended to protect the family from financial hardship in the future by replacing the weekly income the deceased can no longer provide a spouse or children.

For surviving victims, a claim for damages is the best way to ensure every cost of recovery is covered. This civil claim seeks to earn money to pay all medical expenses and can also be counted on to support victims as they remain out of work and miss valuable paychecks.

In cases where a DUI suspect is involved, the suspect will be facing criminal charges. This won’t affect your civil accident claim. Your claim can be settled separately even when a criminal trial hasn’t begun yet.
