A Fresno police vehicle was struck from behind during a traffic stop, injuring two people late Tuesday night. The Fresno Bee reported the three-vehicle collision occurred just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Tulare Avenue and Fourth Street on June 28, 2022.
A Fresno police officer had detained one car for a traffic stop when a third vehicle came from behind to strike the officer’s SUV. The police SUV was then sent into the back of the car that had been pulled over by the officer.
Two people inside the stopped car were taken to Community Regional Medical Center with injuries. The officer and the driver in the third vehicle were not injured. The driver in the third vehicle, a 36-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
