A collision between two vehicles west of Selma in Fresno County claimed a life and sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night. ABC30-TV reports the accident occurred at the intersection of De Wolf Avenue and Floral Avenue on June 7, 2022.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the accident sometime after 8 p.m. They say that the driver of a Chevy Suburban turned directly in front of an oncoming Chevy Silverado pickup. The vehicles collided head-on.
CHP officials confirmed that the 71-year-old man driving the Suburban was killed in the crash. The pickup caught fire in the aftermath and two men had to be pulled from the truck. The two victims were rushed to a Fresno hospital with what were described as serious injuries.
CHP investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
