Two-Vehicle Accidents On Highway 145 in Madera County

Two-lane, narrow highways through rural Madera County can prove hazardous for motorists. The problem is that drivers who make even a small mistake don’t have a lot of room to correct their errors.

Any issue for a driver in one lane can so easily become a major hazard to those traveling it the opposite lane. Victims in these powerful crashes can suffer broken bones and head and spine injuries. Injuries can be so severe that lives end up at risk.

A Frightening Collision in Madera County Injures Four People

A devastating crash in southern Madera County sent four people to the hospital Tuesday morning. KFSN-TV reports the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. along Highway 145 near Avenue 11, south of Madera on March 15, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol says the driver of the sedan traveling northbound drifted off the road for an unknown reason. The car hit a guardrail and was sent back onto the highway where it struck an oncoming van.

The driver of the sedan and a female passenger were both rushed to the hospital with major injuries. Two victims inside the van were also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Two others inside the van complained of pain. Fortunately, a child and a baby in the van were not hurt.

California Highway Patrol investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Finding Help for Victims After a Madera County Accident

Victims of accidents involving oncoming traffic can face long and expensive recoveries. The healing process can be hard on those hurt and for their families who must worry over their loved one’s physical and financial wellbeing.

Hospital bills and emergency response fees can arrive in the first few weeks after a crash. Those bills may not be the end of it, as months of physical therapy and even surgery may be necessary in the future. This financial hardship is only made worse by the fact that injured victims will likely be missing valuable time at work and losing out on income.

A victim and family members of a victim can file a claim for damages that makes an official request of a car insurance company for an at-fault driver. This claim would seek assistance for victims so they can avoid a financial crisis over a collision they weren’t to blame for.
