The Bakersfield Police Department says an SUV and a pickup truck were involved in the crash northeast of downtown Bakersfield. The driver of the pickup suffered moderate injuries. A passenger in the truck was also injured and was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
The driver of the SUV was not hurt. Investigators don’t believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
