Motorcycle Accidents On Cathedral Oaks Road In Goleta CA

Motorcyclists enjoy riding the varied terrain of Santa Barbara County. Yet, the county’s curvy roads and sometimes steep grades can put riders at risk when other motorists don’t know how to safely travel these routes.

Drivers can allow themselves to become distracted or reckless and lose control of their vehicles on a narrow road. This mistake can put them in the path of other cars and motorcycles to cause a terrible accident.

Rural roads can also require more care as motorists enter roadways and make turns. A glance in one direction or another may not be enough to spot the smaller profile of an approaching motorcycle. Drivers can proceed without the right-of-way and suddenly present a dangerous obstacle to a rider.

Support for Families After a Motorcycle Accident in Goleta

Families who have lost a loved one to a roadway accident will be devastated and, naturally, have questions after how a motorcycle collision could have been avoided. For families facing the expenses that arise out of such a tragedy, a wrongful death lawsuit can be vital to the protection of close relatives.

This civil lawsuit is filed against the at-fault driver’s auto insurance provider and asks to provide financial protection to the family left behind. A spouse or domestic partner, children of the victim, and in some cases the parents of the victim can file a wrongful death claim on behalf of the rest of the family.

A wrongful death lawsuit asks the insurance company to assist with emergency response and ambulance fees charged in the accident. It should also cover the costs of a proper funeral and burial for the victim. The future hardships the family will face should also factor into support. This can include the lost financial support the victim can no longer provide the family in the years to come through his or her job.
