Dangerous Collisions on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara County CA

Highway 101 is the most popular route through Santa Barbara County. Unfortunately, that popularity draws increased traffic and increases the chances of a careless or reckless driver making a mistake on the road. These small mistakes can have devastating consequences for other drivers.

Drivers can veer out of their lanes while texting or reading an email. Motorists can be traveling much faster than they should and more easily lose control. Drivers can also be unable to focus or even be nodding off, especially at night when the temptation to drive while sleepy can be greater.

These lapses in judgment can lead to dangerous accidents that cause serious injuries and, in the most devastating cases, claim lives.

Support for Family Members After a Santa Barbara County Accident

Families who must cope with the loss of a loved one in a terrible accident can be forced to confront the financial consequences of such a tragedy. The bill for ambulance and emergency responders can quickly come due. The costs for a funeral service and proper burial may have to be paid. This is also a time when the weekly financial support a victim may have provided through his or her job could suddenly be gone.

Families should never face these expenses alone when there is insurance support available. Close relatives can file a wrongful death lawsuit against an at-fault driver’s car insurance provider to seek help after an accident. This civil claim also seeks to stabilize the family in the years to come, when they’ll be without the guidance and financial support the deceased would have continued to provide.
